Perhaps better than modern techniques.
[edit source]As the COVID-19 dust settles, negative pressure respirators or more commonly Negative Pressure Ventilators (NPVs) are getting a second look and some of the findings are surprising.
- No intubation needed.
- No sedation needed.
- No risk of barotrauma.
- No risk of Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia (VAP).
- No sterilization issues.
- No need for highly trained medical people.
- Oxygenates blood better than PPVs.
- Increases the heart’s efficiency by up to 25%.
NPV is as effective as PPV in preventing COPD deaths. Hcdebey (talk) 13:06, 9 November 2024 (UTC)
