The next big Meme is already here, has killed millions and shows no sign of going away. It is taught in schools and at home, it degrades people and isolates them and it deliberately places power in the hands of te few.

Thinking, belief and rationality[edit]

When thinking about memes, and why we believe what we believe, it's interesting to ask whether we can be more conscious about the memes that run our brains.

I find Less Wrong an interesting community around these questions, and I'm currently reading a very, very clever and readable introduction to rationality that I found via that site: Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality (web version, downloads).

Add to a cat?[edit]

Should this page be in a category? Joeturner 08:25, 11 March 2013 (PDT)

Virtually none of the pages in The future we deserve were added to the TheFWD category. This sounds like a job for Chris' bot! ;-) --RichardF 08:33, 11 March 2013 (PDT)
Oops, I didn't realise that was part of FWD. Silly me.
That's because it's not categorized! Seriously, feel free to bug Chris' bot about a cat herding project for these pages. :-) --RichardF 09:03, 11 March 2013 (PDT)
