steam engine technology for desalination
[edit source]I've been wondering for quite a while about the potential feasibility of this.
The basic principles seem sound -- what we need is to create a low tech design, then prototype.

- adding to this, the idea is based on the well-established principle of Wikipedia: Vapor-compression desalination — all I would be adding to this would be the practical details of using hardware similar to in a locomotive steam engine.
