Role of the Greens[edit source]
The Australian Greens pushed for a carbon tax at least as an interim measure, until a trading scheme can be worked out. The recent announcement of a carbon tax agreement came out of negotiations with the Greens, who hold a balance of power (or share the balance of power with independents, at least on the Lower House). --Chriswaterguy 15:42, 28 February 2011 (PST)
