Hello Naught101 Sorry I did see your message for months. You are right stative is no english word. Stative is a German and Dutch word for a tripod Equipment Stand or this kind of stand with more legs

If you Google "Stative" i only find dutch and German Internet sites.

I think there is not one English word for "stative" because a Equipment Stand can be something that we call "stelling" Dutch word for shelf-stand.

I am trying to find the right English word, balance stand is better.
