Forest culture

In 2005 the UN carried out a Millennium Ecosystem Assessment. As a result of this there were identified 4 Ecosystem Services. Of these services the 4th was called Cultural Services:
Cultural services: "nonmaterial benefits people obtain from ecosystems through spiritual enrichment, cognitive development, reflection, recreation, and aesthetic experiences"
- cultural, intellectual and spiritual inspiration
- recreational experiences (including ecotourism)
- scientific discovery
