Building Code of Australia

Building Code is a must for a planned and organized growth of a city. Each city has its own Building Bye Laws fot the welfare of public and to maximize the use of resources available.

In a similar way Australia also has its building bye laws named Building Code of Australia This code ensures safty of people and sustainable growth of the cities.

The Building Code of Australia is a sub part of National Construction Code.

This document is in 2 parts. Part 1 covers class 2 to class 9 buildings wherease Part 2 is for class 1 and class 10 buildings.

ABC addresses various aspects including structural adequacy, fire resistance, access and egress, services and equipment, energy efficiency, and health and amenity.

Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB) is the authority responsible for creating building standards.
