The Los Pinos beach turtle association, from Cangrejera (ATOPLOPC) is an association for the protection of sea turtles.
Main objective
Located on Cangrejera Beach, near Puerto La Libertad, this organization has been operating since October 2012 and offers visitors the unique opportunity to experience a special moment with marine wildlife during the release of baby turtles. Its mission is to help sea turtles return to their natural habitat. The goal is to release 100,000 turtle hatchlings each year with the help of its members. Approximately 70 families have joined this environmental conservation effort to protect El Salvador's marine life.
By 2022, they had released more than 400,000 sea turtles in order to conserve, protect and guarantee the reproduction of turtles on Cangrejera beach, in the department of La Libertad.
