This chart is a great resource. I have been cutting wood, for myself, and to sell, since 1972. I mostly use Maple, Cherry, White Ash, and some Yellow Birch, but will burn almost anything. the softer, lesser BTU woods are OK in warmer weather, and burning them, plus small pieces from the tops helps eliminate waste. I cook alot on a woodstve in the winter months, and use alot of small, down to 2 inch diameter branches in making a hot cooking fire.
