Suggestions for update

Hi Lupine,

Great work! Please include some photos in the final update, e.g. a full shot including the roof, and a closeup of the oven. A photo of the students cooking would be great as well. In addition, please check the content of the page for accuracy. Feel free to add references or change incorrect information.

Corrugated layer 1?

Hello,

Regarding peak temperatures, firing time, rate of cooling, etc., how effective would corrugating the inner walls of the oven be? Corrugation increases the surface area of an otherwise flat surface by adding "ripples" or bumps in the surface. Cooking pots have been made with corrugated outer walls, which allows the pots and their contents to heat up faster. For an earthen oven, corrugation could be accomplished by rolling the clay/sand mixture used in Layer One (The Dense Layer) into "snakes," then surrounding the sand form with these "snakes."
