Inveneo is a non-profit social enterprise whose mission is to empower people in remote and underserved communities and the organizations who serve them through access to computing and communications. We do this by designing, integrating, deploying and supporting Information and Communications Technology (ICT) highly sustainable, open, relevant solutions designed specifically for organizations (NGOs, Local Governments, Private Entities) operating in rural and remote communities in the developing world.

Goals and Objectives

Inveneo's goal is to connect 265 village homes, schools and clinics this year (2006) with their NGO and organization partners. Inveneo's objective is to support organizations (NGOs, local governments, private entities) to connect over 4,0000 villages in the next 3 years. This will bring the benefit of life change ICT (Information and Communications Technologies) which can include phones, computers and the Internet to over 4000 communities/4 million people in the develop world.

funding organisation.

How many locations do you want to install systems in initially? It's only one locality.
What are those locations? (Please name the location by town that can be located on a map if possible)

Mbarara District within the Municipality councail.

Is this a pilot for a possible larger project? Yes, provided we access & install the system,the target

to progress more is already observed.

What is the approximate scope for the larger project? Mobollisation of the youth on how to use &

motivate their talents hence, developing them.

Yes, please for printers & other assocaited items.

In these locations, is grid power available? If so, how dependable is it? Grid power is available as already informed that, the locality is situated within the urban, where much of the work is generated

using power(Electricity & Generators).

               No, we don't have any specific application.

Do you require Microsoft Windows based applications (Inveneo’s system is Linux/Open Source based, but in many cases Microsoft can be supported)? Yes, we require both microsoft windows and linux / open

               source based.
