Hello. I am T.J. Wierzba and I completed my Associate's degree at Northcentral Technical College in Wausau Wisconsin as well as earned a MEM (Manufacturing Electronics Maintenance) certificate and I am continuing my education at Michigan Technological University in Houghton Michigan for my Bachelor's degree. I have experience running laser cutters/engravers, 3D printers, and various other machines within a machine shop.
Interests[edit | edit source]
My interests range from electronics and electronic components, robotics, programing(pbasic/C+), and in sustainable energy as well as energy storage. I have not conducted any research as of yet, but i do plan on doing some research while enrolled here at MTU.
Goals[edit | edit source]
My main goal is to further my education by completing my Bachelor's degree and continue even further to my Master's and beyond if I am able to afford it.
This being my first year after transferring to MTU, I was lucky enough to get into the FAR (Fall Academic Research) program here at MTU. So I am required to obtain a mentor that will be able to guide me along the path of conducting research and write a research proposal and the end of my first semester. I found this to be a great opportunity to get some research experience, albeit its only the proposal that is required. I hope to win SURF (Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship) support to conduct the research outlined within the FAR program proposal. If not, it will have still been a good experience to learn.
Obtaining an internship would also be very beneficial to my career/experience. Having went to the KRC (Keweenaw Research Center) and hearing about everything they do up there has gotten me very interested in internships.
