Charlie Pereda Bio[edit | edit source]

Charlie Pereda, a dedicated Environmental Resource Engineering student at Cal Poly Humboldt, is on track to graduate in 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in environmental resource engineering. His commitment to education and community improvement shines through his involvement in various extracurricular activities. Charlie has taken on leadership roles in clubs like Druids and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, where he actively contributes to the mission of these organizations.
One notable achievement in Charlie's academic journey was his participation in a collegiate competition focused on water quality filtration systems. His team secured an impressive 3rd place, showcasing his engineering prowess and dedication to environmental solutions.

Recently, Charlie has embarked on a new venture by founding a business named Lucid Dreamers. This innovative endeavor aims to address the pressing issue of limited access to financial literacy, covering topics like cryptocurrency, stock market investments, real estate, and financial institutions. Charlie's vision is to empower individuals with the knowledge and tools to make informed financial decisions, ultimately contributing to financial inclusion and well-being.

Looking ahead, Charlie's aspirations include making a positive impact on low-income communities by integrating renewable energy and appropriate technology. His dedication to educating others in financial literacy exemplifies his commitment to creating a better, more sustainable future for all

  • I am interested in working with renewable energy sources and improving them to be more efficient.
  • I am interested in the building aspect of engineering.
  • I am interested in working as a part of a team to solve complex environmental problems and improving my teamwork skills.

Experience in Engineering[edit | edit source]

  • I helped my dad with construction, he did plumbing, electrical, and carpentry
  • I also took some classes on electronics at my local community college where we learned about how circuits work and some coding
  • I learn about landscaping design and 3d modeling through some high school classes
  • Studying Environmental Research Engineering at Cal Poly Humboldt.
  • Building a Rube Goldberg contraption to turn off a power switch.
  • Designing a water treatment for the 2019 Annual MidPac Conference
    • My team and I won the local MidPac competition hosted by the local ASCE Chapter at Cal Poly Humboldt.
