Tiger McDonald is an Honours Business Administration (HBA) and Sustainability Certificate candidate in the Ivey Business School at Western University. Western University is a top ranking University situated in London Ontario, Canada [1]. The Ivey Business School housed within Western University is one of Canada’s leading business schools that specializes in simulating a real-world business experience through case-based learning methodology [2]. Tiger is a pitcher on the Men’s Varsity Baseball team at Western University and has held many positions on the Western Crypto Club such as Director of Finance and Director of Education while researching emerging technologies to write about in the cryptocurrency space.

Projects[edit | edit source]

Tiger has ventured into the mining of the widely known cryptocurrency Bitcoin. The business was incorporated in 2017 under the name Bit MG and operates in three locations across Ontario. Powered by ASIC S9 mining rigs, data collection and maintenance is a regular task. Optimization of ventilation, electrical supply, and individual miner hash rates through community mining pools continue to be an area of research today.

Tiger has since joined Dr. Joshua Pearce (User:J.M.Pearce) and his research team through the Summer Research Internship Program (USRI) at Western University to evaluate the economic viability of cryptocurrency mining coupled with agrivoltaics and photovoltaic energy.
