Tanmoy Bhattacharjee[edit | edit source]
I am a Master's student in Electrical Engineering(Power & Renewable Systems) at Michigan Technological University, MI. I have completed by Bachelor in Power Engineering from RTM Nagpur University and worked for couple of years in MV switchgear and Transformer industry. Mostly my interest are in the field of Renewable energy, Energy storage and power systems design.
Projects[edit | edit source]
1)Fault current analysis for the selection of circuit breaker: The objective of the project is to study the fault analysis approach as per IEEE standard 551-2006 and the various parameters that are being considered in selecting the appropriate rating of the circuit breaker. (Using ATP & MATLAB SIMULINK)
2) DCOPF and ACOPF based LMP Simulation and their Comparison: On the PJM 5 bus system the DC optimal power flow and AC optimal power flow was performed using GAMS software and the difference between the optimal solutions obtained by the two process were compared. Even, how the DCOPF process can be made more accurate for LMP calculation was recommended
Field of Interests[edit | edit source]
1) New Design Technology for Solar Energy to achieve better efficiency.
2) Project Cost Optimization by new technology and products.
3) Power System design.
4) Relays and Protections.
Work Experience[edit | edit source]
I started my career in sales and estimation of medium voltage switchgear products and distribution transformer. Working closely with EPC contractors and MEP design consultants for design optimization, contract management, complete execution and getting products design approvals. Studying the single line diagrams and making proposals, managing PO,invoices and payments as per the contract, follow up with the clients for after sales services, installation coordination were some of my job responsibilities.
During my tenure I have worked along with various Solar EPC Contractors and consultants in MW Level Solar projects (Power Evacuation Side). It was due to my interest and achievements I was assigned all the key accounts in the Solar Sector for South India.
