I am, Ryan Gardner, a junior at Cal Poly Humboldt pursuing a degree in Environmental Resources Engineering with a focus on renewable energy and environmental sustainability. Growing up in Monterey, California, I was deeply influenced by the natural beauty of the coast, forests, and marine ecosystems. These experiences that shaped my passion for environmental protection and sustainability. Nature has always been a source of peace and inspiration for me, and I am committed to doing everything within my power to protect and preserve it for future generations.
During my time in college, I have participated in several hands-on engineering design projects that have strengthened my technical and problem-solving skills. These include developing a customizable soundboard and creating an alarm-equipped tote bag using Arduino and MATLAB. While I have not yet worked directly in the field, these projects have given me a strong foundation in coding, electronics, and system design.
My long-term goal is to contribute to sustainable solutions that help secure the future of our planet. I aspire to work on projects that make renewable energy more accessible and effective, and to be part of a global effort toward ecological balance and climate resilience. I bring with me a deep respect for the environment, a strong sense of responsibility, and a determination to make a meaningful impact through engineering.
