Hi! I am Niels, born and raised in the swiss alps, where I also did my apprenticeship as painter and plasterer. For over twenty years, I've been dedicated to working with natural materials like lime and clay, always eager to learn and try new techniques.

I'm passionate about community and social engagement. I love meeting fellow workers and volunteers around the world, sharing knowledge, and learning from each other. From 2015 to 2018, I traveled extensively, volunteering on various projects. I worked on the Panama Canal, in Scandinavian factories, and in many other places, gaining diverse experiences and perspectives.

These volunteer projects have been incredibly enriching, teaching me the value of listening, asking questions, and collaborating. I continue to work on construction projects in different countries, always with a focus on sustainable and traditional building practices.

My goal is to help preserve and promote these methods, ensuring they are passed down. I use Appropedia mainly to create and contribute in making How To's.
