Engineering Fundamentals Design Project – Bungee Jump Fall 2012
Objective: Design a bungee jump system that could be used off the Houghton-Hancock Lift Bridge
Methods:
- Worked on a 4 person engineering team
- Analyzed difficulties/safety issues associated with bungee jumping
- Used proper group organizational tools – Gantt Chart, Open Issues Lists, Google Drive, etc.
- Simulated & tested our design using computer analysis – MATLAB, NX modeling
Engineering Fundamentals II Design Project – Manned Vehicle Design Spring 2013
Objective: Design a manned vehicle to be used off road that could carry 3 passengers and cargo
Methods:
- Designed a prototype model in Siemens NX
- Performed a FMEA analysis and aggregated the results in a final report and presentation
- Used MATLAB to create a program to estimate the power usage, time, gearing, and various other factors for the vehicle on local mountain biking trails using GPS and elevation data collected earlier.

[edit | edit source]Redid basement room, including a light up dance floor
New tile floor, vinyl composition tile
New radiator covers and trim work, all wood work
Light up dance floor, powered by LED's and a simple controller box
Video link of floor in action is here -> [1]

[edit | edit source]Persistence of Vision Project - LED 4x4x4 Cube
Made with 74HC595 shift registers, a transistor array and an Arduino
Similar to this one shown here -> [2]
Below is a picture of the custom PCB I had made for the project
I still have the remnants at home, unfortunately my Arduino fried both the chips and itself for some reason, so it no longer works. I could fix it if I had time, which I might do this summer.
