I am studying Environmental Resources Engineering at Cal Poly Humboldt. I am interested in engineering because I like understanding how things work and how problems can be solved in practical ways. I am especially interested in environmental topics and how engineering can be used to improve systems involving water, resources, and infrastructure.

Some of my interests related to engineering include environmental systems, problem solving, design, and hands-on work. I also want to learn more about how the engineering design process works from the beginning of a project through the final design.

I do not have much formal engineering experience yet. I have done some basic work on cars and have helped out in a few shops, mostly with simple tasks, tools, and general hands-on work. I have also had experience working on group projects in classes and learning basic programming and engineering concepts through school.

Outside of school, I like walking, reading, watching sports, and spending time outdoors. I also enjoy learning how mechanical things work and doing simple hands-on projects when I get the chance.

In ENGR 205, I am hoping to get more experience with the design process, working with a group, communicating ideas, and creating something for an actual client.
