ABOUT MYSELF

[edit | edit source]

I am Maksudul Mannan Shakkhar, a recent graduate of the master's degree (M.Eng.) in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) from the University of Waterloo in August 2024.

I had my first master's (M.Sc.) in Renewable Energy Technology from the University of Dhaka and my bachelor's degree was in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Islamic University of Technology, both were from Bangladesh.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

[edit | edit source]

My career aspirations are both from my childhood dream and passion to become an impactful electrical power and renewable energy engineer. My academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Islamic University of Technology (GPA 3.69 out of 4), where I developed a keen interest in telecom, IoT, microwave radio frequency, LTE D2D system.

Subsequently, I earned a Master of Science in Renewable Energy Technology from the University of Dhaka (GPA 3.64 out of 4), where I conducted research on the design and feasibility of a near-shore wind power plant using Q-Blade software and this research was accepted to be published in ICEPG Conference. This work deepened my understanding of renewable energy integration and its practical applications in developing regions.

Most recently, I completed a Master of Engineering in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Waterloo (GPA 76%), focusing on power system studies.

A Review Paper on Hybrid PV: PV/Wind Systems Overview, Characteristics, Challenges and Opportunity.

Academic Project Review Paper.

Research-Gate DOI Link:10.13140/RG.2.2.35188.97924 May 2024 - Aug 2024

https://www.researchgate.net/publication/382973315_A_Review_Paper_on_Hybrid_PV_PVWind_Systems_Overview_Characteristics_Challenges_and_Opportunity

About- Solar, Wind, Hybrid Renewable Energy System A hybrid energy system combining the several RES is one of the viable solutions to increase the reliability of the system. Especially, solar photovoltaic and wind energy have gained more attention because of the maturity of both of these technologies. For this reason, this review paper aimed to focus on photovoltaic and wind energy systems. However, exploitation of these two sources individually is not always easy because of their intermittent and irregular characters. Therefore, the obvious solution is the hybridization of these two sources. The paper discusses the technical and economic characteristics of these systems, including energy conversion efficiency, system configuration, and grid integration. Key challenges such as variability of resources, system complexity, and high initial costs are examined. Additionally, the paper highlights opportunities for technological advancements, policy support, and market growth that can drive the adoption of hybrid PV/wind systems.
