Mark Burg worked in the workers' compensation field for ten years after high school, spending his time after work pursuing live performance art in both a band (Back Alley Buzzards) as well as perform stand-up comedy and hosting "Capitol PUNishment" - Sacramento's premier pun tournament. Always having an interest in engineering, Mark decided to leave his career to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering.
Since changing career paths, Mark has tried to dip his toes into anything and everything remotely related to engineering. From material science, to CNC operations, 3D modeling and printing, GIS mapping, C++ programming, and so much more; he's made a serious effort to find what excites him the most about engineering.
Mark attended Sacramento City College achieving an associates degree in Mathematics during his study of undergraduate mechanical engineering courses, as well as worked as an Instructional Assistant, Woodshop Safety Trainer, and 3D Printing Manager at the Sacramento City College MakerSpace, and also runs his own online 3D print shop: 3D Printarama. He transferred to Cal Poly Humboldt in Fall 2025 to finish his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
