AT villager recruitment is the selection and primary preparation of people when they decide they wish to become members of an AT-village.

Selection[edit | edit source]

The selection of suitable candidates is done in order to ensure that the AT-village is composed of people who will be able to provide (atleast a minor) revenue to the AT-village, and do not pose a health risk to any other AT village members.

As the selection thus require the villagers to provide atleast some revenue, people that require too great expenses must be disallowed. Expenses for example include: too great medical costs, and those who require a too great degree of luxury above what the AT-village can provide. Rather than being a cruel measure, this measure is intented to ensure that the AT-village concept succeeds, as the faltering of the complete concept would do much more harm than the not allowing of some individuals.

In addition, people that pose a health risk to other AT-village members should be barred from entry. Examples include people with infectious, untreatable diseases such as HIV 1/2. Although in this example drugs may heavily reduce the infectivity, the costs to do this would be so great that no revenue can be obtained at all, rather significant financial losses. So in the intrest of the global good, it is better that such people are directed towards medical centres, rather than being allowed into the AT-village. The AT-village could however nonetheless offer to provide some services to help these centres, and thus, these people aswell. Other examples are diseases as tuberculosis, ... with these diseases however, reapplying for admission to the AT-village can be done when the patient has been found fully healed (a doctor certificate, ... is then needed, and patient must appear healthy).

People with a violent history or those who have committed other offences, are then again not valid reasons to disallow entry into the AT-village, unless very serious offences have been made. In some cases however, it may prove useful to arrange the villages in such a manner, that people that committed certain offences are placed together in a shelter (in other cases, the opposite is sometimes preferable), in the intrest to keep the most appropriate environment for each individual member. The reason why small offences are not a valid reason is that everyone is capable to change on the personal level, and the AT-villages should be one of the tools to accomplish this.

Primary medical care[edit | edit source]

As discussed previously in the manual, Sterilisation is one of the most important tools we must include into appropriate health care. As, at present, no (inter)national incentives exist, they must still be included manually. If it is found that the genetic makeup should prevent sterilisation for the time being (in very rare occasions), the step can be postponed.

Banning[edit | edit source]

Banning village members from the village can be done if it has been seen that a villager is uncapable of adhering to the simple rules, code of conduct, or refuses to perform any work (which is chosen on a free basis) at all. Due to fact that the code of conduct for AT-villages is to be made highly relaxed, banning is probably very little employed. However, the measure is needed so as to increase the chance of succes of AT-villages.
