About
[edit | edit source]Mechanical Design Engineering student with a focus in applied robotics, mechatronics, DFM and prototyping. If I'm not making something, you can probably find me riding my bike (or at least one of them!)
Projects
[edit | edit source]NASA Colorado Robotics Challenge
[edit | edit source]Project Lead for award winning robotics competition team, responsible for setting project milestones and coordinating team communication. Additionally designed and implemented the robot’s integrated planetary wheel system, enabling efficient navigation on fine sand while maintaining compatibility with lightweight motors.
Tags for Pinnipeds (Seals, marine mammals)
[edit | edit source]Student design consultant on NOAA- and Cal Poly Humboldt–sponsored pinniped flipper tag redesign, working with client liaison Dr. Dawn Goley (in a student–consultant, not employee, role) to translate field requirements into engineering criteria. Utilized CAD, cost analysis, and iterative prototyping (FDM 3D printing, silicone molding, and basic machining) to develop a durable, legible three-piece tag system compatible with existing applicators, which was accepted by the client as a viable path toward future field implementation.
CAD Workshops
[edit | edit source]Saw a gap between resources provided to students and student expectations on campus and decided to fill it. I developed lesson plans for a series of CAD workshops for engineering students, covering everything from downloading software to configuration tables.
Research
[edit | edit source]Interests
[edit | edit source]As a high school freshman, my friend Gus and I decided to join the high school Mountain Bike Racing team. I was hooked. Since then I have spent nearly every free minute on my bike; exploring, training, and racing. I've been to many places you can't get driving, and won some fun and challenging events like the WENTE 8hr, the Sea Otter Fuego XCO, and a handful of the Grasshopper Adventure Series races.
