Background:
[edit | edit source]Hello, I am an undergraduate engineering student at the University of Western Ontario. I am currently studying electrical and artificial intelligence systems engineering.
I have spent two summers as a member of Western’s Smart Cities and Communities Laboratory performing interdisciplinary research on the use of state-of-the-art technology for practical applications in civil engineering. During the first summer, I explored the use of remotely operated and autonomous underwater vehicles for structural health monitoring. This involved a thorough literature review and a paper published in the Journal of Infrastructure Intelligence and Resilience. In the second summer, I researched and developed virtual reality as a tool for both educating students about structural inspection as well as performing remote visual infrastructure inspections.
I am passionate about the development of sustainable technology and making state-of-the-art technology accessible and practical.
Research Interests:
[edit | edit source]I am interested in researching practical robotics, virtual reality, communications, and control systems. I am especially interested in how these field can make use of emerging artificial intelligence technologies.
