From Appropedia
The Bergisches Städtedreieck consists of the cities Wuppertal, Solingen, and Remscheid, located in the Bergisches Land region of western Germany, between Cologne, Düsseldorf, and the Ruhr area. Together, the region has around 600,000 inhabitants and is a traditional center of industry, innovation, and sustainability.

We are the FAB Region Bergisches Städtedreieck!

As part of a funding project by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) running from 2024 to 2026, eight project partners have joined forces to bring the three cities Remscheid, Solingen, and Wuppertal, which together form the Bergisches Städtedreieck (Bergish City Triangle or Tri Cities), into the global Fab City community.

The project aims to foster regional economic development based on sustainability, circular economy principles, and decentralized co-creation. We focus on innovation spaces that bring together people who want to shape the future of our region with technology, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit.

Furthermore, we are setting concrete impulses for circular business models in collaboration with companies and civil society across our three cities. All of this is being realized by adapting the global Fab City concept to the specific context of the Bergisches Städtedreieck.

Through Appropedia, we aim to document and share pilot projects and learning formats developed within the scope of this initiative, resources that can also be adapted and applied in other regions.

Make. Learn. Share! May it be fruitful!
