I am very interested in recycling and reusing old waste materials. There is something very appealing to most people, including myself, about new things, but that kind of mentality generates a lot of consumerism and unnecessary waste. I want to find ways to make reusing materials a more appealing and sexier option than buying new.
I am also very interested in improving technologies for water storage, transportation, and use. Clean drinking water is an essential to life, and an increasingly limited resource. I believe it is not only important to provide more people with more access to clean water, but to also address our issues with loss do to inefficiencies. For example, using water clean enough to drink for anything other than drinking, especially when local availability of clean drinking water is really low, is an inefficiency of usage that can be very detrimental.

I don't have any hands on experience with large impact appropriate technologies. My experience is limited to decisions I have made about my personal lifestyle to live more appropriately, such as choosing to ride my bike to school to cut my carbon footprint. Most recently I have fallen in love with the bucket shower. In my home in Santo Domingo, the water in the pipes gets incredibly hot from the sun exposure during the day. Filling a bucket from the indoor water tank allows me shower with cool water while also significantly reducing my water use.
