Name: Desiree Perez
My name is Desiree. I'm a Humboldt State student and a journalism major. I'm intent on at least making a small dent of difference in this world before I leave it all behind, so I tend to be very interested in politics and public policy. On the lighter side, I like coffee and art. I play guitar, trumpet and clarinet. I volunteer for KHSU public radio. And I'm learning to juggle.
Interests in Technology and the Environment[edit | edit source]
I was more interested in "social justice" before I came to Humboldt State. But, when I got to HSU I began to understand more about just how connected social and environmental justice are. You really can't have one without the other. I learned a little more about sustainability on campus, but want to have a better first hand understanding about environmentally-groovy technology before I go off to be an environmental reporter or advocate. If you don't know for yourself, it's really easy to be duped.
Experience in Technology and/or the Environment[edit | edit source]
I really don't have experience with technology. As far as the environment goes, I live in it. I appreciate it. And I'm doing what I can to preserve it in my own small daily ways. I tried to do vermiculture once, but that didn't really work out...
