1. apblog interviews How did you find Appropedia? Has it made a difference in how you do your work, and the impact of your work?

SPECIFIC QUESTIONS::

For Frank & designers, e.g. Ed: Open Source Appropriate Technology has the potential to come of age in the same way as GNU/Linux. But that won't happen until we build a vibrant user community, based on accepted standards with a set of commonly used practices and techniques. ---

I'm doing a study on collaborations and knowledge-sharing in the green space, starting with this page: https://www.appropedia.org/Green_wikis I've listed your site there - perhaps you'd like to add to it, or edit it. I'm be curious to know more about the project:

  • What is the background of those who worked on the project?
  • What is the current plan or vision for the project?
  • What has worked, what hasn't, what you see as the best way to have an impact in these areas that you are passionate about?
  • How well has your platform worked for designs, as opposed to more general ideas. In the spirit of openness, I plan to publish all responses in full, unless you ask me not to.

Many thanks, Chris https://www.appropedia.org http://twitter.com/appropedia

Has your project worked as an open collaboration? What is your background? What's worked, what hasn't, what you see as the best way to have an impact? (Or to put it another way: Since the time when you first started the project, have your views changed on the best ways to collaborate?) Who does most of the editing - the founders, employees, students, other people who found the site through the internet...? Maybe: When did your project start? Was it just you or were others involved? Merged wikis: If you had kept it as a separate project, do you think you would have been more or less inspired to spend time on it?
