Hey there. My name is Andy Geyer and I'm a chemistry major here at HSU. I was born and raised in Munich, Germany, but moved to the Sacramento area in kindergarten. I still go back about every summer to visit family. I'm a supplemental instructor for Chem 109 and I also do research with Chris Harmon. We're working on building a portable Mass Spectrometer and hopefully this beast will be running within the semester. As for my hobbies, I love mountain biking, reading, and hanging out at the beach with friends.
Interests in Appropriate Technology[edit | edit source]
- I've always been very interested in solar energy, because the sun is a constant source of energy and isnt going to burn out anytime soon.
- Providing ways to clean water in parts of the world that don't have clean water sources.
- Growing my own organic fruits and vegetables.
Experience in Appropriate Technology[edit | edit source]
- Building a tool shed and greenhouse.
- Building a mass spectrometer has helped me work with a lot of electrical equipment.
- Watering plants for my garden...
