TissueDB/Materials/Pork Ribs

From Appropedia

Pork Ribs are ex vivo porcine rib segments used in surgical simulation to replicate the mechanical and tactile properties of human ribs. Porcine ribs provide authentic bone density, cortical hardness, and intercostal spacing for procedures requiring rib palpation, intercostal dissection, and instrument passage through bony structures. Unlike synthetic bone substitutes, ex vivo porcine ribs offer real bone tissue properties including realistic resistance to cutting instruments and tactile feedback during palpation. Pork ribs are distinct from Pork Belly, which simulates soft tissue rather than bone.
