Not working properly[edit source]

The template code is identical to Wikipedia:Template:Unsigned, yet it currently doesn't work on Appropedia, displaying raw code around the date. But when I do the same thing in a sandbox/preview on Wikipedia, it's fine. I don't understand why. If the arguments are reversed (date then username/IP) then it displays correctly. That's not how it should be.

{{unsigned|Freddo|11 August 2007}}

should be —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Freddo (talkcontribs) 11 August 2007
actually —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Freddo, 11 August 2007

Once the above two lines are the same, presumably the problem is fixed. --Chriswaterguy · talk 10:15, 23 August 2007 (PDT)

Hi Chris,
I believe that this error is due to the if statements. Until we have this fixed (no set timeline for that... do we have an open discussion on that issue somewhere?), consider using {{Unsigned2}}. I think that you will find that template very effective especially since it takes the arguments in the cut-and-paste format from the history.
Let me know if we need to fix this quickly. Thanks, --Lonny 10:35, 23 August 2007 (PDT)
