Template:TissueDB incomplete source notice
Placement
[edit source]Place {{TissueDB incomplete source notice}} above the Layout template call on any TissueDB page where the source publication's full text was not available during page creation.
Purpose
[edit source]This notice identifies pages where construction details, material specifications, or build instructions may be incomplete because the full text of the cited source publication could not be accessed at the time of page creation.
The notice serves three purposes:
- Alerts contributors and readers that this page has known content gaps traceable to limited source access
- Provides a trackable category for monitoring pages that need full-text enrichment
- Invites community contributions from anyone with access to the source publication
Parameters
[edit source]| Parameter | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
reason |
No | Custom text explaining what specific source data is missing. Defaults to: "The full text of the source publication was not available during page creation." |
Usage
[edit source]Basic (default message):
{{TissueDB incomplete source notice}}
With custom reason:
{{TissueDB incomplete source notice|reason=Build instructions are based on abstract and search snippet data only. The full text of Calvo et al. (2021) in ''Educación Médica'' was not accessible during page creation. Detailed assembly steps, 3D printing specifications, and pork belly preparation procedures require full-text verification.}}
When to remove
[edit source]Remove this notice when:
- The full text of the source publication has been reviewed and all content gaps have been filled, or
- A subject matter expert has verified that the page content is complete and accurate without full-text access
Technical notes
[edit source]- Uses {{Notice}} with a warning icon (Nuvola apps important.svg)
- Adds the page to Category:TissueDB incomplete source pages
- Follows the same pattern as {{TissueDB unmapped notice}} (PW-296)
- Designed for Pathway B (External Curated) simulator intake where publisher paywalls or network restrictions prevent full-text access
Source authority
[edit source]- Project governance: source fidelity mandate (every content claim must trace to source documentation)
- SELF Developer Playbook (January 2026): content traceability requirements
- Platform convention (Sophivorus): notice templates use {{Notice}} base template with appropriate icon
Applies to
[edit source]- Any TissueDB page type (Simulators, Materials, Tissues, Structures) where source access was limited
