Deletion proposal[edit source]

A request to delete was made by User:KVDP, arguing that "This groundsailor "windmill" provides a very bad example for others."

KVDP, could you please clarify why you consider this a very bad example? If there are safety concerns, then information could be added as to how to make it safe. --Chriswaterguy 08:41, 23 April 2012 (PDT)

It's way too small to generate any usable amount of power (mostly as the blade diameter is too small), and it's structurally very weak, even a moderate wind can destroy it.

A groundsailor WECS similar to this one can be useful, but mostly only if it's used for specific tasks/used mechanically (as a simple WECS, not windturbine)

Groundsailor windturbines can be created, but should be allot bigger (for any reasonable energy production) and preferably also have blades that can be positioned depending on where the wind comes from (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windmill_sail#Dutch_sail_types ) Since they're still quite complicated to make, other WECS-types are generally more suitable.
