Concerns[edit source]

I appreciate everyone's efforts here. I am very wary of Appropedia trying to tell people how to live. E.g. "Try to have a relaxed attitude towards your life." Is that necessary? Do we have proof it works?

These sentiments towards personal how to live articles have been discussed other places, and probably need to become a discussed policy. In the mean time, please try to focus on facts (how to find public transportation, how much public transportation can save in yearly spending and carbon costs in the U.S., etc.) and put opinions under your user name, for example https://www.appropedia.org/User:Lonny/How_to_live_more_green.

Thank you for all you do, --Lonny 03:20, 25 November 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Agreed. In some cases, tweaking might be enough - e.g. it seems ok if one of the suggestions (not instructions) is to be early, which can have the side benefit of being more relaxed. But telling someone to relax is getting away from the topic.
There are suggestions about how to influence others mixed into "Daily living" - I might separate these out a little to start with, but I'm not sure how much of this belongs here. --Chriswaterguy 04:45, 25 November 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
