Should we make a point of addressing as many of these issues as possible this Sat at 9AM?
We need to establish some mechanism to answer these questions as they come up - Ideally, that mechanism would strive for consensus but I would like to have someone who can decide contested issues.
Proposal: each of us chime in on these issues forum style and try to arrive at consensus. If no consensus is achieved, I say Curt should decide. --David.reber 08:16, 26 August 2008 (PDT)
- Interesting. I don't see a need for appointing a single decision maker, personally. I think knowing that the fallback option is something other than consensus (or even just being bold and doing what you want) would change the dynamics.
- But this is based on me seeing "nothing being done" as not a sack of consensus, but lack of action. In that case, it's up to someone to take the initiative. --Chriswaterguy 05:03, 28 August 2008 (PDT)
Where is the best place to talk with you? I may be in town the weekend of the conference, and I am very interested. But I would like a conversation to help me understand if this is a good fit. I work on the concept of thrivability (thrivability.wordpress.com). I know of Vinay's hexayurt from his days on Omidyar.net. And I am working on aligned initiatives. Thanks! FYI--I hear you debating here between consensus and do-acracy...part of our emergence as we work through doing that effectively. :) NurtureGirl 09:08, 28 August 2008 (PDT)
- See http://groups.google.com/group/open-sustainability-network - that's the best place. Any friend of Vinay's is... possibly dangerous ;-) but in a good way. Look forward to hearing from you, and hope you're able to join us!
- Thrivability - interesting. I like it. --Chriswaterguy 05:18, 29 August 2008 (PDT)
