Simplified knots list[edit source]
A while ago I had the idea of a simplified list of knots people could learn and which would include no more than 8 knots which are helpful in survival situations and in low-tech construction (eg in the developing world). The discussion about this has originally started at Wikiversity at http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Talk:Knots These knots were:
* the double overhand knot * the reef knot * double sheet bend * marline hitch * bowline * clove hitch * diagonal lashing * round lashing
Perhaps that a simplified list can be mentioned here aswell ? KVDP 14:53, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
