The following documents are required in order to invite a VGS student to Western:
VRO VGS Form- to be completed by the student (see attached) Copy of Student’s passport- to be provided by the student VRO Fee Authorization form- to be completed by Supervisor (attached) VRO Invitation Letter- to be completed by Supervisor (two templates attached- the SFAR is for durations <12 months, the other is a Work Permit, required for durations of 12 months or more (attached) Letter of Permission from the student’s home university, as well as proof of financial support: · be on the home institution letter head with contact information, dated, and signed by an official faculty/department staff
· confirm the VRO student’s registration and tuition being paid
· identify the VRO student’s level and field of study (e.g., Master’s level, field of …)
· provide details about the VRO student’s research project at the home institution, and how it relates to the research that will be conducted at Western University
· acknowledge the VRO student’s host supervisor at Western University
· indicate specific dates and duration of visit
· outline funding information which addresses the following:
Source of funding for travel, lodging and/or research expenses If the source of funding is from a research award granted on the basis of academic merit, this must be clearly stated Funding amount, who will administer it, and how (lump sum or by periodic installments over the research term)
