I photographed this image in which the improvements made as of May, 2012 are clearly shown.

One must wait for the winter rains to soften the sun baked ground before each years improvements can be made.

The 2012 Improvements Include[edit | edit source]

  • a wider diameter which increases the overall power of the Earthen Solar Cooker by 15%
  • a sculpted shelf for the upper mirrors which allows them to be more preciely aimed throughout the late morning and early afternoon
  • larger sculpted steps and ...
  • 10 matching resused one gallon apple juice bottles blackened with tempra paint.

(The mirrors are cut from salvaged aluminum ceiling panels.)

The Shape Of Things To Come[edit | edit source]

  • A concentric raised garden bed is currently being sculpted into the outer circumference of the radial mound of excavated earth which rings the aperature of the Earthen Solar Cooker. Vegetables grown there will be cooked and canned within the Earthen Solar Cooker using the power of the sun.
  • A circular mosaic tiled walk way used for accessing the upper row of mirrors is in the planning stages.
