Hello Rasmus,

Welcome to Appropedia! If you need help, please check out the Help pages (or the more in-depth one on WikiEducator).

Check your preferences and be sure you verify your email address and turn on email notification if you'd like it -- you can find out when your talk page, or any page on your watchlist, is modified. Please consider putting some information about yourself on your userpage and uploading a photo as well.

If you have a particular interest or project in mind, go ahead and start it! If you have questions or suggestions, the best place to leave them is at the Village pump - you should get a fast response. Also, feel free to leave me a note on my talk page if you have further questions, need help finding your way around, have a cool idea for a project, or just want to chat.

Delighted to have you here, --Steven M.

Howdy[edit source]

Hi Rasmus,

Nice to see you around! --Lonny 06:07, 4 January 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Thanks[edit source]

Hi Rasmus - I just read the Black Soldier Fly page - I'd never heard of these, but they're so interesting. Thanks for your work! --Chriswaterguy 05:54, 21 January 2011 (PST)

Copyright question[edit source]

Hi Rasmus,

I see you started Cattail Chemurgy - just wanted to let you know that it's been flagged as a possible copyright violation. See the notice on the page, and the discussion on the talk page. As far as I can tell, it's not public domain (again, see comment in the notice) so should at least be rewritten. If you have any more info, please note it on the talk page - thanks. --Chriswaterguy 13:21, 26 August 2011 (PDT)

Transwikification[edit source]

You wrote:

Dear Editors, a long time ago I contributed a number of pages that were originally written for the Open Source Ecology (OSE) wiki and still reside there. Years ago, OSE changed its web address (was: "openfarmtech.org") to "opensourceecology.org". As a result, all of the links to the OSE wiki are broken. Is there a way that you can edit this across the whole wiki? Regards, Rasmus

There is such a mass-edit function, and I tried it out for the first time on this. It looks like it will take time to process the request, though. I'll check on it again later. --Ethan (talk) 19:02, 22 February 2016 (PST)

Heh - I also did this, a few hours ago :-). Haven't seen any changes yet, so I'm not sure whether it's working. Will check again later. --Chriswaterguy (talk) 20:28, 22 February 2016 (PST)
Not working, apparently :(. Something for our tech person to do, but we need to raise some money for the next round of tech work. In the meantime, I've added it to User:Chriswaterguy/Wikignome/Bot replacements. So we require either someone running pywikibot, or a fixed replace tool for admins. --Chriswaterguy (talk) 02:48, 3 March 2016 (PST)

Thanks[edit source]

Great contributions, Rasmus. I'd never heard of Radical Technology or Undercurrents before. It's always interesting to me to rediscover these publications from the 70's because there's plenty of things that have gone on to be further developed, but many others that have been apparently forgotten since then. I'm excited to think that we're rebuilding the momentum of the appropriate tech movement --Ethan (talk) 17:51, 25 July 2016 (PDT)

The book and Undercurrents seem to have had a decent following back in those days. I am planning to get a used copy of Radical Technology. I gather you saw the link to that upcoming conference in early September? This might be of interest to some Appropedia users. --Rasmus (talk) 18:11, 25 July 2016 (PDT)

I definitely look forward to hearing about it, but it's a bit far away for me to attend in person. We have some members in UK and Europe that might want to attend. I'll spread the word. --Ethan (talk) 19:53, 25 July 2016 (PDT)
