Debbie - Really nice work. Some comments for the group started to trickle in here Talk:Mobile_Solar_Powered_3D_Printer_V2.0. Some additional thoughts -- we probably should move away from uni-solar laminates as they are bankrupt and it will be hard for others to replicate. The Foldarap looks like the way to go. Dr. Pearce, Thank you for the positive response, and for the introduction to your team. I can tell they will be a great help. I completely agree with you about Uni-solar, although I do hope they make a return to the market, or at least another company picks up where they left off. I will try to make contact with the foldarap creator, to get it's current power consumption, and go from there. As for computing power, I have already borrowed a Raspberry Pi for testing while we await our own. While I know the graphics card will have no problems keeping up with the software, I have serious doubts about it's processing capibilities. However for $35, it is certainly worth exploring :) Plus, having the backing of the huge, technically-minded online Raspi community, wouldn't hurt either! I will also make sure the foldarap can be moded for an SD card reader, for an ultra-low power model. Are there any that you would like me to investigate further? --Debbie 09:25, 16 July 2012 (PDT)
