A thermodynamic hot water system is a way of utilizing solar panel technology to provide hot water for a household. It uses reverse refrigeration to act as a heat pump and heat up water. This a cost-effective, environmentally friendly way of heating water, especially for homes off the grid.
It has been developed commercially in the UK and is effective down to -10°C (14° F) but is more efficient in warm to hot conditions.
