Arguments in favor of hunting
These arguments assume that the meat is needed and doesn't go to waste.
In some cases hunting is a good thing since it keep animal populations from over population thus protecting the ecosystem.[1] (This is presumably the case when the top predators are no longer present - how does hunting compare with the actions of these predators? Can particular hunting practices help the ecosystem achieve a healthy state? [expansion needed]) Yes according to Jimmy Carter's book "Our endangered Values" [2].
In addition to these matters hunting and fishing licenses are needed to protect America's wildlands.
