This Appropedia Web page is Dedicated to creating an appropriate technology response to the catastrophe in Haiti by HSU students enrolled in engineering 305-Appropriate Technology - spring 2010. Students enrolled in other courses and wishing to receive class credit are also invited to participate. Bart Orlando[1]
Many essential needs can be provided using appropriate technology: shelter, water pasteurization, cooking food, dealing with human waste, lighting, telecommunications, bathing and methods of aid cargo delivery, etc. Engineering 305 students participating in this project are invited to contribute links, project ideas and opinions by emailing them to me at bart6591@yahoo.com and we can discuss adding them to this page.

INSPIRING EXAMPLES OF APPROPRIATE TECHNOLOGY AID POSSIBILITIES
SOLAR POWERED AIRSHIP ARMADAS DO NOT REQUIRE ROADS, PORTS OR AIRPORTS
While beyond the scope of this semester's project, a smaller project can still be very important to the individuals who will receive it when completed. This is the type of airship in the US Air Force fleet in the 1950's. Future next generation cargo airships are planned to be much larger, each capable of carrying as much aid as a small freighter.
