Bots are software used to perform repetitive tasks. They may be written in various languages, but Pywikipedia (written in PythonW) is commonly used.
To get help on bots, contact Chriswaterguy or Curtbeckmann, Appropedia admins who are using the Ppywikipedia bot on Appropedia (and both still learning).
