Welcome![edit]

Hi MdS,

Welcome to the Appropedia wiki. Please make yourself at home! If you need a general wiki-tutorial, see the main help page (or the more in-depth one on WikiEducator).

Check your preferences and be sure you verify your email address and turn on email notification if you'd like it -- you can find out when your talk page, or any page on your watchlist, is modified. You may want to upload a photo or information about yourself to your userpage (which is at http://appropedia.org/User:MdS).

If you have a particular interest or project in mind, go ahead and start it! If you have questions or suggestions, the best place to leave them is at the Village pump - you should get a fast response. Or, feel free to leave me a note on my talk page if you have further questions, need help finding your way around, have a cool idea for a project, or just want to chat.

Glad to have you here!

Mech 370[edit]

Hey Mike,

Overall I say you did a real good job and I just have made some minor edits with some grammar and words. Though one think I really suggest that you put into your page is referencing during the article.

To reference/link to a Wikipedia page use this format Diffusion DEPRECATED TEMPLATE - PLEASE USE {{W}} INSTEAD.

For your references at the bottom of the page if you want to have them referencing parts of your article here is the format:

< ref name="Plasma Spraying" >URL , date< /ref >

To use the reference again somewhere else in the article just do this:

< ref name="Plasma Spraying"/ >

Instead of having to write out your references on the reference section you are able just to type a simple code and its put there on its own.

< references/ >

Just get rid of the spaces for what is between the brackets.

I couldn't see any major things that needed to be edited, but instead of always having to explain every simple little concept, like what exactly pedal power is you can link to it from another site, so if people don't know what it is they can read up more on it. You could think about doing that as an addition to what you have already put down there.

I will look over it again on Thursday for my final edits on your page.

Cheers,

Tom

Improvements[edit]

Rename page -- everything on this site is appropriate technology

  • Formatting: Fix headers, tie into appropedia with hyperlinks, use existing site resources to explain basic concepts, categorize properly
  • Content: cite each concept directly using <ref> commands, quantify your suggestions - consider choosing the most promising one and working in some calculations to prove your point
