My name is Susan Brown and I am a senior at Clarion University going for a degree in geology. I am taking an on-line course dealing with physics and the environment because protecting the environment is very important to me. I enjoy being outside all times of the year and hate to see pollution and know what is happening to the earth, including what cannot be seen. I feel that I do many things in my life to conserve energy, however I am sure I can do more. Not only do I want to learn what more I can do, but I want to make sure what I believe is helping actually is. I have had an internship with the Department of Environmental Protection for two years now. This has helped me to learn a lot through my experience in their various programs. I want to continue learning how to protect the environment and eventually pass my knowledge onto others.

Welcome![edit source]

Hi Susan,

Welcome to the Appropedia wiki. Please make yourself at home! If you need a general wiki-tutorial, Wikieducator has some excellent ones.

Check your preferences and be sure you verify your email address and turn on email notification if you'd like it -- you can find out when your talk page, or any page on your watchlist, is modified. You may want to upload a photo or information about yourself to your userpage (which is at, or this link).

If you have a particular interest or project in mind, go ahead and start it! Feel free to leave me a note on my talk page if you have further questions, need help finding your way around, have a cool idea for a project, or just want to chat. You can also call, text, or email me anytime; contact information is on my user page.

Glad to have you here!

Susan -- you should move your article to an independent page.

DU[edit source]

Susan check your DU article - it contains some factual errors -- you use Uranium for fission....but DU is what is left over after you take the U235 out and use it for fission (nuclear energy). The DU is primarily used by the military for weapons and shielding. Research a bit about it online. --Joshua 10:21, 16 November 2007 (PST)
