Interests[edit | edit source]
Recycling and waste reduction, especially home composting.
Sustainable transport, especially bikes and trains, but I like trams as well, although I can't put my bike on a tram.
Renewable energy, energy use reduction.
Participation, democracy, how to replace unsustainable capitalism with something better. I'm a member of the Green Party of England and Wales.
I like music and sculpture, photography and non-animal circus, and other creativity.
Experience[edit | edit source]
I have over 20 years experience of low carbon, low impact living.
I have started several community organizations: North Yorkshire Credit Union, York Rotters, York Green Festival, and am active in several others, including York in Transition, York Local Exchange Trading System and the Alternatives to Violence Project.
I am a very keen home composter and actively collect materials every week to keep them out of landfill and get them recycled. I sell some of the compost I make.
I do talks on low carbon living, anthropogenic climate change, peak oil, and, of course, composting!
I work as an entertainer, Professor Fiddlesticks.
