This template is for creating soft redirects, i.e. short pages pointing readers to a page on a different site. These should generally be used only to point to wiki sites, and generally should be applied or approved by an admin. (That's just a proposal for a guideline - comment on the talk page.)
Usage
[edit source]The template takes two arguments:
- The first argument is the URL of the page you want to link to.
- The second argument is the display text for the link.
Example

displays as:
Categorization
[edit source]Placing this template on a page automatically categorizes the page into Category:Soft redirects.
Protection
[edit source]Pages with soft directs should be protected or semi-protected to avoid being hijacked for spam sites, or otherwise being inappropriately changed.
