Overall I thought this ECM was done extremely well.

All data and calculations were clearly laid out.

The list of instructions as to how to use the ECM was a great idea to help users navigate and manipulate the spreadsheet.

What makes this ECM so useful is that the team preformed an analysis for an extended term (14 years vs 5-6 years) and made sure to look at replacement periods of the lights and the ballasts. Every building is always going to need lights so showing that the T-8 light bulbs are profitable in the long term was a good decision.

While doing such an analysis was thorough, having it all compiled into one spreadsheet was intimidating and overwhelming. There is a lot of data on one sheet and I found it difficult to take in. Creating graphs and only using data for the first 7 years in the introduction and executive summary was a wise choice.

I think that the 'TRY IT OUT' paragraph, the disclaimer and the Implementation Considerations sections could have been written by the team. Those are important sections to have in there but I would have preferred if they were not copied and pasted from the sample ECM. (Just a personal preference) The implementation considerations were adjusted for the specific ECM and showed that the team thought about the project and energy savings on a larger scale.
