Summary

Description

This is is the world's largest solar furnace. It's located in Font-Romeu in the French Pyrenees, close to the border with Spain.

It has been operating at up to one Megawatt power since 1970. At the focus of the sun's rays temperatures can reach 3,500 °C (6,330 °F).
